The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, when he witnesses a matter, let him speak good or remain silent. And take care of women, for woman was created from a rib. The most crooked part of the rib is its upper portion. If you try to straighten it, you will break it, and if you leave it, it will remain crooked. So take good care of women."
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Marriage (5185-5186), and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Suckling (60:1468), both through the route of Husayn bin Ali Jafi, from Maysara, from Abu Hazim, from Abu Hurairah, as mentioned. The wording is Muslim's.Muslim also narrated it through another route, from Ibn Shihab, who said, Ibn Musayab narrated to me, from Abu Hurairah, who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The woman is like a rib, if you try to straighten her you will break her, but if you leave her as she is, you will enjoy her company despite the crookedness in her."
