The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Jibreel, "Why do you not visit us more often than you do?"Then this was revealed, "And we do not descend except by the command of your Lord. To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us" [Maryam 19:64].
قال رسول الله ﷺ لجبريل: ألا تزورنا أكثر مما تزورنا؟ قال: فنزلت: {وما نتنزل إلا بأمر ربك له ما بين أيدينا وما خلفنا} [سورة مريم: ٦٤].
Bukhari narrated it in the Beginning of Creation (3218), through multiple routes from Umar bin Dharr, from his father, from Saeed bin Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, and he related it.Abu Umar is Dharr bin Abdullah bin Zurara al-Hamdani al-Marhabi.In another narration he said, "This was the answer given to Muhammadﷺ" (7455).
