His father Bashir brought him to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I have given this son of mine a slave boy who belonged to me."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Have you given each of your children a gift like this one?"He replied, "No."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then take it back."
إن أباه بشيرا أتى به إلى النبي ﷺ، فقال: إني نحلت ابني هذا غلاما كان لي. فقال رسول الله ﷺ: أكل ولدك نحلته مثل هذا؟ فقال: لا. فقال رسول الله ﷺ فارتجعه.
Malik narrated it in Aqdiyah (41), from Ibn Shihab, from Humayd bin Abdul-Rahman bin Awf and Muhammad bin Numan bin Bashir, that the two of them related it to him from Numan bin Bashir, and he mentioned it.Bukhari narrated it in Hibah (2586), and Muslim in Hibat (1623), both of them by way of Malik.
