The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah grants the wrongdoer respite, but when He finally seizes him, He does not let him escape." Then he recited, "Such is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes the towns while they are committing wrong. Indeed, His seizure is painful and severe." [Hud 11:102].
قال رسول الله ﷺ: إن الله ليملي للظالم حتى إذا أخذه لم يفلته. قال: ثم قرأ {وكذلك أخذ ربك إذا أخذ القرى وهي ظالمة إن أخذه أليم شديد} [سورة هود: ١٠٢].
Bukhari related it in the tafsir (4686), and Muslim in righteousness and kinship ties (2583), both from the hadith of Abu Muawiya, Burayd bin Abu Burda narrated to us, from Abu Burda, from Abu Musa who said, then he mentioned it.
