Abdullah bin Masud reported,

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Satan has given up hope of being worshipped through idols in the land of the Arabs, but he will be content with something less than that from you, namely the trivial sins, which are the destroyers on the Day of Resurrection. Avoid acts of injustice as much as you are able, for a servant will come on the Day of Resurrection with good deeds, thinking they will save him. Then a servant will keep coming forward and saying, 'My Lord, your servant wronged me with such-and-such injustice,' and Allah will say, 'Erase some of his good deeds.' This will continue until no good deed remains for him because of the sins he committed. The likeness of that is a group of travelers who camp in an open desert with no firewood. The people scatter to gather wood, and before long they have collected it, built up a great fire, and cooked whatever they wished. Such are sins."
