He forbade the price of a dog, the earnings of a prostitute, the fee of a fortune-teller, and the wages of a cupper.
نهي عن ثمن الكلب، ومهر البغي، وأجر الكاهن، وكسب الحجام.
Recorded by Hakim (2/33), and from him Bayhaqi (6/6), from the hadith of Hushaym, who said, Husayn narrated to us, from Mujahid, from Abdullah bin Amr, and he related it.There has been some discussion about whether Mujahid actually heard from Abdullah bin Amr, but Bukhari confirmed that he did and narrated it in his Sahih. Likewise, Ali bin Madini stated in al-Ilal that he heard from Abdullah bin Amr and a number of other companions. The earnings of the cupper are not forbidden, rather this is to be understood as a matter of mild disapproval rather than prohibition, as will be explained further ahead.
