Abdullah bin Amr bin As reported,

I heard the Prophet ﷺ say in the year of the Conquest, while he was in Makkah, "Allah and His Messenger have forbidden the sale of wine, carrion, and pigs."Someone asked, "Messenger of Allah, what about the fat of carrion? It is used to coat ships, to grease leather, and people use it to fuel their lamps."He replied, "No, it is forbidden." Then he said, "May Allah destroy the Jews. When Allah forbade them the fat, they melted it down, sold it, and consumed its price."

عن عمرو بن شعيب، عن أبيه، عن جده قال

سمعت النبي ﷺ عام الفتح وهو بمكة يقول: إن الله ورسوله حرم بيع الخمر والميتة والخنزير. فقيل يا رسول الله، أرأيت شحوم الميتة فإنه يدهن بها السفن، ويدهن بها الجلود، ويستصبح بها الناس؟ فقال: لا، هي حرام. ثم قال: قاتل الله اليهود، إن الله لما حرم عليهم الشحوم جملوها، ثم باعوها، وأكلوا ثمنها.
