The Prophet ﷺ forbade that fruit be sold until it ripens.The narrator said, I asked Saeed, "What does 'ripens' mean?"He replied, "It turns red or yellow and becomes fit to eat."
نهي النبي ﷺ أن تباع الثمرة حتى تشقح. قال: فقلت لسعيد: وما تشقح؟ قال: تحمار، وتصفار، ويؤكل منها.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Sales (2196), and Muslim in the Book of Sales (1536:84), via Salim bin Hayan, who said, Saeed bin Mina narrated to us, saying, I heard Jabir bin Abdullah say, and he mentioned it.
