The Messenger of Allah ﷺ granted a concession to the owner of an ariyyah, allowing him to sell it based on an estimate of its yield.
أن رسول الله ﷺ أرخص لصاحب العرية أن يبيعها بخرصها.
Malik narrated it in the Book of Sales (14) from Nafi, from Abdullah bin Umar, from Zayd bin Thabit, and mentioned it as above. Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Sales (2188), and Muslim in the Book of Sales (1539:60), both by way of Malik, in the same manner, and Muslim added, "of dates."Bukhari narrated it (2192) by another route, from Musa bin Uqba, from Nafi, with the wording, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ granted a concession regarding the araya, that they be sold for their estimated equivalent by measure." Musa bin Uqba said, "The araya are known palm trees that you go to and buy."
