The Messenger of Allah ﷺ pawned his armor in exchange for barley, and I once walked to the Prophet ﷺ carrying barley bread and rancid fat. I heard him say, "The family of Muhammad ﷺ has not had so much as a single saa by morning or by evening, though they are nine households."
ولقد رهن رسول الله ﷺ درعه بشعير، ومشيت إلى النبي ﷺ بخبز شعير وإهالة سنحة، ولقد سمعته يقول: ما أصبح لآل محمد ﷺ إلا صاع، و لا أمسى، وإنهم لتسعة أبيات.
