The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever grants a debtor in difficulty more time, or forgives the debt entirely, Allah will shade him under His shade."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: من أنظر معسرا أو وضع عنه أظله الله في ظله.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Zuhd and Raqaiq (3006) through multiple routes from Hatim bin Ismail, from Yaqub bin Mujahid, from Abu Hazra, from Ubada bin Walid bin Ubada bin Samit, who said, "My father and I set out seeking knowledge from this Ansari clan before they passed away, and the first person we met was Abu Yusr." He then related a long hadith.Baghawi narrated it in his commentary (2142) through another route from Abu Yusr, similar to it.Abu Yusr, with the ya and sin both having a fatha, was a companion who took part in the Battle of Badr. His name was Kaab bin Amr bin Ubad Sulami.
