She said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ purchased a camel, or several camels, from a Bedouin man for a wasq of dhakhirah dates. Dhakhirah dates are ajwa dates. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned with the animals to his house and looked for the dates to give him, but could not find any. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to him and said, "Abdullah, we have bought a camel, or several camels, from you for a wasq of dhakhirah dates. We searched for them but could not find any."She said, the Bedouin cried out, "What treachery!"She said, the people scolded him sharply and said, "May Allah destroy you. Would the Messenger of Allah ﷺ act treacherously?"She said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Leave him alone, for the one who is owed a right has the freedom to speak."Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed him again and said, "Abdullah, we bought your camels from you thinking we had at home what we had named for you as the price. We searched for it but could not find it."The Bedouin again cried out, "What treachery!"The people scolded him and said, "May Allah destroy you. Would the Messenger of Allah ﷺ act treacherously?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Leave him alone, for the one who is owed a right has the freedom to speak."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ repeated this two or three times. When he saw that the man did not understand his point, he said to one of his companions, "Go to Khuwaylah bint Hakeem bin Umaya and say to her, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ says to you, if you have a wasq of dhakhirah dates, lend it to us until we can repay you, Allah willing.'"The man went to her, then returned and said, "She said, 'Yes, I have it, Messenger of Allah. Send someone to collect it.'"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to the man, "Go with him and pay him in full what he is owed."He said, so he went with him and paid him in full what he was owed. She said, the Bedouin then passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was sitting among his companions and said, "May Allah reward you well. You have paid in full and paid generously."She said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Those people are the best of Allah's servants in His sight on the Day of Resurrection, those who pay in full and pay generously."
Ahmad (26312) narrated it from Yaqub, who said, my father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, who said, Hisham bin Urwa narrated to me, from his father, from Ayesha, and he mentioned it.Bazzar narrated it - Kashf Astar (1309) - from Muhammad bin Ishaq, from Muhammad bin Jafar bin Zubayr, from Urwa, from Ayesha. Its isnad is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ishaq, for his narration is hasan when he explicitly states "hadatha", and he has indeed stated it explicitly. Moreover, he was not alone in narrating it, for Yahya bin Umayr followed him in it.Through his route, Abd bin Humayd (1499) narrated it, as did Bayhaqi (6/20), and Bazzar - Kashf Astar (1310) - very briefly. Bazzar said, "We do not know of anyone who narrated it from Hisham except Yahya." This is what he said. But we have seen that Muhammad bin Ishaq also narrated it from him, just as Hammad bin Salama also narrated it from him, from Hisham.Hakim (32/2) narrated it through the hadith of Yahya bin Salam, from Hammad bin Salama, and said, sahih isnad. Dhahabi took issue with this and said, "Yahya is daif, and no one has included his narrations."I say, Yahya bin Salam is the Basri, whom Daraqutni judged daif. Ibn Adi said, his hadith is recorded despite his weakness. Dhahabi mentioned his biography in Al-Mizan.These corroborations of Muhammad bin Ishaq strengthen what he narrated, showing that he was not alone in it, and his hadith is deemed hasan when he explicitly states "hadatha", so how much more so when he is corroborated in it.For this reason, Haythami graded it sahih in Al-Majmu (139/4-140), the hadith of Ahmad, saying, "Ahmad and Bazzar narrated it, and Ahmad's isnad is sahih."
