A bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "My father wants to take all my wealth."He replied, "You and your wealth belong to your father. The best of what you eat is from your own earnings, and your children's wealth is part of your earnings, so eat from it with enjoyment."
أتى أعرابي رسول الله ﷺ فقال: إن أبي يريد أن يجتاح مالي. قال: أنت ومالك لأبيك، إن أطيب ما أكلتم من كسبكم، وإن أموال أولادكم من كسبكم فكلوه هنيئا.
Ahmad (6678), Ibn Jarud (995), and Bayhaqi (7/480) all narrated it from the hadith of Yahya bin Saeed, who said, "Ubaydullah bin Akhnas narrated to us, saying, 'Amr bin Shuayb narrated to me,'" and he related it.Abu Dawud (3530) narrated it from the hadith of Habib the Teacher, and Ibn Majah (2292) from the hadith of Hajjaj bin Artah, both of them from Amr bin Shuayb, from his father, from his grandfather, and he related the hadith.Its chain is hasan because of Amr bin Shuayb, for his hadith is hasan. As for Hajjaj bin Artah, there is well-known criticism of him, but he has been corroborated.
