Bukhari narrated it in Hajj (1701), and Muslim in Hajj (1321:367), both by way of Amash, from Ibrahim Nakhai, from Aswad, from Ayesha, as mentioned above. The wording given is Bukhari's.As for what is reported from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent sheep as an offering to the House, this is not preserved. It was narrated by Imam Ahmad (14891), and Bazzar in Kashf Astar (1106), both by way of the hadith of Abu Zubayd Abthar bin Qasim, from Amash, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, as mentioned. Bazzar added the word "garlanded," and said, "We know of no report from Jabir except by this route. The companions of Amash only narrate it from him, from Ibrahim, from Aswad, from Ayesha. Abthar has not been corroborated in his statement, 'from Jabir.'" End of quote.Daraqutni found the same fault with it in Ilal (71/15).
