Ayesha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, informed her about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding his combining of Umrah with Hajj as tamattu, and the people performed tamattu along with him, in the same manner that Salim informed me from Ibn Umar from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
أن عائشة زوج النبي ﷺ أخبرته عن رسول الله ﷺ في تمتعه بالعمرة إلى الحج، فتمتع الناس معه. بمثل الذي أخبرني سالم، عن ابن عمر، عن رسول الله ﷺ.
Bukhari narrated it in Hajj (1692), and Muslim in Hajj (1228), both through Layth bin Saad, who said, "Aqeel (Ibn Khalid) told me," from Ibn Shihab, from Urwa bin Zubayr, with the same wording. The statement "the same as what he told me... etc." was said by Ibn Shihab Zuhri, referring back to his earlier hadith.
