The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "How long have you been here?"I replied, "I have been here for thirty days and nights."He asked, "Who was feeding you?"I said, "I had no food except the water of Zamzam, yet I grew so plump that the folds of my belly creased, and I felt no pang of hunger in my liver."He said, "It is blessed. It is food that nourishes."
قال لي رسول الله ﷺ: متى كنت ههنا؟ قال: قلت قد كنت ههنا منذ ثلاثين بين ليلة ويوم قال: فمن كان يطعمك؟ قال: قلت ما كان لي طعام إلا ماء زمزم فسمنت حتى تكسرت عكن بطني، وما أجد على كبدي سخفة جوع! قال: إنها مباركة، إنها طعام طعم.
Muslim narrated it in Fadail al-Sahabah (2473) from Haddab bin Khalid Azdi, who said, Sulayman bin Mughira told us, Humayd bin Hilal informed us, from Abdullah bin Samit, who said, Abu Dharr said (then he mentioned a long hadith about his departure from his people to Makkah).Abu Dawud Tayalisi narrated it (459) from Sulayman bin Mughira, and added in it, "and healing for sickness." This addition is sahih, and Muslim did not mention it because it was not found in the narration of his teacher Haddab bin Khalid. Likewise, Ibn Hibban narrated it (7133) from the hadith of Haddab bin Khalid without this addition.Bayhaqi erred (5/147) when he attributed it to Muslim from the hadith of Haddab bin Khalid along with this addition.
