I rode behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from Arafat. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reached the left-hand mountain pass before Muzdalifa, he made his camel kneel and relieved himself. Then he came back, and I poured out the water for his ablution, and he performed a light ablution.I asked, "The prayer, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "The prayer is ahead of you."So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mounted and rode on until he reached Muzdalifa, where he prayed. Then on the morning of Jam, Fadl rode behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.Kurayb said, Abdullah bin Abbas informed me, on the authority of Fadl, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ continued reciting the talbiyah until he reached the Jamrah.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Hajj (1669), and Muslim in the Book of Hajj (1280), both by way of Ismail bin Jafar, from Muhammad bin Abu Harmala, from Kurayb the freedman of Ibn Abbas, from Usama bin Zayd, who narrated it. used to ride behind the Prophet ﷺ from Arafah to Muzdalifa, and then Fadl rode behind him from Muzdalifa to Mina. He said, Both of them said, "The Prophet ﷺ kept saying the talbiyah until he threw the pebbles at Jamra Uqba."
