When the Prophet ﷺ departed from Jam and reached the valley of Muhassir, he urged his she-camel on, and she trotted briskly until she had crossed the valley.
لما أفاض النبي ﷺ من جمع، وانتهى إلى وادي محسر قرع ناقته، فخبت حتى جاوز الوادي.
Tirmidhi (885) related it in a lengthy hadith, from Sufyan, from Abdul-Rahman bin Harith bin Ayyash bin Abu Rabia, from Zayd bin Ali, from his father, from Ubaydullah bin Abu Rafi, from Ali bin Abu Talib, who mentioned it.Tirmidhi said, "The hadith of Ali is a hasan sahih hadith. We do not know it from the hadith of Ali except through this route, from the hadith of Abdul-Rahman bin Harith bin Ayyash. More than one narrator has related it from Thawri in the same way."I say, its chain is hasan due to the discussion surrounding Abdul-Rahman bin Harith bin Abdullah bin Ayyash Makhzumi, though he is hasan in his hadith.
