He asked Anas bin Malik, while they were heading from Mina to Arafat, "How did you used to act on this day with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"Anas replied, "Some of us would call out the talbiyah and no one objected, and others would call out the takbir and no one objected."
أنه سأل أنس بن مالك- وهما غاديان من منى إلى عرفة-: كيف كنتم تصنعون في هذا اليوم مع رسول الله ﷺ؟ قال: كان يهل المهل منا فلا ينكر عليه، ويكبر المكبر فلا ينكر عليه.
Malik narrated it in the Hajj chapter (43), from Muhammad bin Abu Bakr Thaqafi, with the chain. Bukhari narrated it in the Hajj chapter (1659), and Muslim in the Hajj chapter (1285), both through Malik, in like manner.Muslim also narrated it through Musa bin Uqba, who said, Muhammad bin Abu Bakr told me, I said to Anas bin Malik on the morning of Arafah, "What do you say about the talbiyah on this day?" He replied (and he mentioned something similar).
