The Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out from Mina after performing the dawn prayer on the morning of the day of Arafah until he reached Arafah. He stopped at Namirah, which is the place where the leader stays at Arafah. When the time for the noon prayer came, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out early in the heat and combined the noon and afternoon prayers. He then addressed the people, after which he proceeded to the standing place at Arafah and stood there.
غدا رسول الله ﷺ من منى حين صلى الصبح صبيحة يوم عرفة حتى أتى عرفة، فنزل بنمرة وهي منزل الإمام الذي ينزل فيه بعرفة، حتى إذا كان عند صلاة الظهر راح رسول الله ﷺ مهجرا، فجمع بين الظهر والعصر ثم خطب الناس ثم راح فوقف على الموقف من عرفة.
Abu Dawud (1913) narrated it from Ahmad, and it is in his Musnad (6130), from Yaqub bin Ibrahim, who said, "My father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, who said, 'Nafi narrated to me, from Ibn Umar,'" and he related it.Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ishaq, whose narration is hasan when he explicitly states that he heard the report directly, as is the case in this hadith.
