We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when five nights remained of Dhul-Qadah, expecting nothing but Hajj. As we drew near Mecca, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that anyone who had not brought a sacrificial animal should exit the state of ihram after performing tawaf and saee between Safa and Marwa.
Bukhari related it in Hajj (1709), and Muslim in Hajj (1211: 125), both of them through the route of Yahya bin Saeed (who is al-Ansari), from Amra bint Abdul-Rahman, who said, "I heard Ayesha," and then she mentioned it.
