Amr bin Dinar reported,
We asked Ibn Umar 
about a man who arrived intending to perform Umra, circled the House, but did not walk between Safa and Marwa. Could he then approach his wife?He replied, "The Prophet ﷺ arrived, circled the House seven times, prayed two units behind the Station, then went out to Safa. And Allah the Exalted has said, 'Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example to follow' [Ahzab 33:21]."

Sahihعن عمرو بن دينار، قال
سألنا ابن عمر رضي الله عنه عن رجل قدم بعمرة فطاف بالبيت ولم يطف بين الصفا والمروة أيأتي امرأته فقال: قدم النبي ﷺ فطاف بالبيت سبعا وصلى خلف المقام ركعتين ثم خرج إلى الصفا وقد قال الله تعالى: {لقد كان لكم في رسول الله أسوة حسنة} [سورة الأحزاب: ٢١].
Bukhari also narrated it in the Book of Hajj (1623, 1644), and Muslim in the Book of Hajj (1234: 189), through the route of Sufyan Ibn Uyayna, from Amr bin Dinar, with the same wording as mentioned.Bukhari added (1624, 1645), "We asked Jabir bin Abdullah 
, and he said, 'She should not approach it until she has performed the walk between Safa and Marwa.'"
