The Prophet ﷺ performed tawaf with one end of his cloak thrown over his shoulder, wearing a striped garment.

Abu Dawud (1883), Tirmidhi (859), and Ibn Majah (2954) all narrated it through Sufyan, from Ibn Jurayj, from Abdul-Hameed, from Ibn Yaala bin Umaya, from his father, and he related it. Except that Abu Dawud did not mention Abdul-Hameed between Ibn Jurayj and Ibn Yaala, and the correct version includes him. Darimi (1885) and Imam Ahmad (17952) also narrated it likewise, except that he left the man unnamed.Tirmidhi said, "This is the hadith of Thawri from Ibn Jurayj, and we do not know it except through his narration. It is a hasan sahih hadith, and Abdul-Hameed is Ibn Jubayr bin Shayba, from Ibn Yaala, from his father, who is Yaala bin Umaya."As for Ibn Yaala bin Umaya, Mizzi, Ibn Hajar, and others determined that he is Safwan bin Yaala, since Yaala bin Umaya had four sons, namely Safwan, Muhammad, Uthman, and Abdul-Rahman, all of whom narrated from their father. Mizzi said, "If it is not Safwan bin Yaala, then I do not know who it is." Safwan is trustworthy, one of the narrators found in the two Sahihs, and he is the most well known of them.
