I saw Umar kiss the Black Stone and embrace it, and he said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ showing deep affection toward you."
رأيت عمر قبل الحجر والتزمه، وقال: رأيت رسول الله ﷺ بك حفيا.
Muslim narrated it in the book of Hajj (1271) via Waki, from Sufyan (that is, Thawri), from Ibrahim bin Abdul-Ala, from Suwayd bin Ghafla, with this chain, and he related it.Muslim said, Muhammad bin Muthanna told me, Abdul-Rahman (that is, Ibn Mahdi) told us, from Sufyan with this same chain, and he said, "But I saw Abu Qasim ﷺ treating it with such devotion," and he did not say, "and clung to it."
