The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best part of Hajj is the ajj and the thajj." The ajj is raising the voice in talbiyah, and the thajj is the sacrificing of the camels.
قال رسول الله ﷺ: أفضل الحج: العج والثج. فأما العج فالتلبية، وأما الثج فنحر البدن.

Abu Yaala (5082) narrated it from Abu Hisham Rafii, who said, Abu Usama narrated to us, who said, Abu Hanifa narrated to us, from Qays bin Muslim, from Tariq bin Shihab, from Abdullah, who said (as mentioned above). In the chain is Abu Hisham, who is Muhammad bin Yazid bin Muhammad Rafii. Nasai declared him daif, while Daraqutni deemed him trustworthy, but he has been corroborated. Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba narrated it from Abu Usama with his chain, as found in Matalib Aliyah (1273). Abu Hanifa is Numan bin Thabit, the well-known jurist and imam. This is supported by the hadith of Abu Bakr Siddiq, that the Prophet ﷺ was asked, "Which Hajj is most excellent?" He said, "Raising the voice and slaughtering." Tirmidhi (827) and Ibn Majah (2924) narrated it, and Ibn Khuzayma (2631) and Hakim (1/451) graded it sahih, and Bayhaqi (5/42) narrated it from him. All of them transmitted it through the route of Muhammad bin Ismail bin Fudayk, from Dahhak bin Uthman, from Muhammad bin Munkadir, from Abdul-Rahman bin Yarbu, from Abu Bakr Siddiq, as mentioned. Hakim said, "This is a sahih hadith." Tirmidhi criticized it for having a break in the chain, saying, "The hadith of Abu Bakr is a rare hadith that we only know through the report of Ibn Abu Fudayk, from Dahhak bin Uthman, and Muhammad bin Munkadir did not hear from Abdul-Rahman bin Yarbu."I say, Bayhaqi (5/42–43) also narrated it through the route of Abu Naeem Dirar bin Surad, who said, Ibn Abu Fudayk narrated to us, from Dahhak bin Uthman, from Ibn Munkadir, from Saeed bin Abdul-Rahman bin Yarbu, from his father, from Abu Bakr, and he related the hadith. He added "Saeed bin Abdul-Rahman" in it, making the chain connected. But Tirmidhi said, "Dirar erred in this," and he attributed this judgment to Imam Ahmad. Bukhari said, "It is an error." I said to him, "Others besides him have also narrated it from Abu Fudayk in the same manner as his narration." He said, "That is nothing, they only narrated it from Ibn Abu Fudayk without mentioning in it 'from Saeed bin Abdul-Rahman'." And I saw him declaring Dirar bin Surad daif, end of quote. Likewise, Daraqutni in Ilal (1/79–280) gave preference to the disconnected narration over the connected one.On this subject there is also what has been narrated from Ibn Umar, who said, a man stood up before the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Who is the pilgrim, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "The one who is disheveled and dusty." Then another man stood up and said, "Which Hajj is most excellent?" He said, "Raising the voice and slaughtering." Then another man stood up and said, "What is the means, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Provisions and a mount."Tirmidhi (2998), Ibn Majah (2896), and Bayhaqi (5/58) all narrated it from the hadith of Ibrahim bin Yazid Makki, from Muhammad bin Abbad bin Jafar Makhzumi, from Ibn Umar, as mentioned. Tirmidhi said, "This is a hadith that we do not know from the hadith of Ibn Umar except through the report of Ibrahim bin Yazid Khawzi Makki, and some scholars of hadith have criticized Ibrahim bin Yazid regarding his memory."I say, rather Ibrahim bin Yazid Khawzi is severely daif, and some have even accused him of fabrication, so the matter is not as Tirmidhi stated.
