Whenever Ibn Umar entered the outer boundary of the Sacred Precinct, he would stop reciting the talbiyah. He would then spend the night at Dhu Tuwa, pray the dawn prayer there, and bathe. He used to relate that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to do the same.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Hajj (1573) via Ismail bin Ulaya, and Muslim in the Book of Hajj (1259) via Hammad bin Zayd, both of them from Ayub, from Nafi, with this chain. The wording given is Bukhari's. Muslim's version is similar, but he did not mention stopping the talbiyah.Bukhari also related it in the Book of Hajj (1553) as a suspended narration via Abdul-Warith (that is, Ibn Saeed Anbari), from Nafi, with this chain, in a similar wording, and it contains, "... then he continues the talbiyah until he reaches the sacred precinct, then he stops."I say, this applies to the one performing umrah, or the one doing tamattu by combining umrah with Hajj. He then begins the talbiyah again on the day of Tarwiya, continuing until he throws the pebbles at the jamrah, as mentioned in the chapter that follows this one.
