The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever grants a debtor in hardship more time, or forgives part of the debt, Allah will shade him beneath the shade of His Throne."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: من أنظر معسرا، أو وضع له، أظله الله في ظل عرشه.
Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba (7/552) narrated it from Husayn bin Ali, from Zaida, from Abdul-Malik bin Umayr, from Rubai, who said, Abu Yasr narrated the hadith to me, and he mentioned the hadith. Ahmad (15521) also narrated it through this same route, and its chain of transmission is sahih. Abu Yasr is Kaab bin Amr bin Abbad Sulami, with a fatha, Ansari, an eminent companion who took part in the Battle of Badr. The original of this hadith is found in Sahih Muslim (3006) within a longer hadith, so refer to it there.
