The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Jibreel came to me and commanded me to raise my voice with the talbiyah."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: إن جبريل أتاني، فأمرني أن أعلن بالتلبية.
Ahmad (2950) and Bukhari in his Tarikh (2/187) both narrated it from the hadith of Abdul-Samad, who said, Abdul-Rahman, meaning Ibn Abdullah bin Dinar, narrated to us, Abu Hazim narrated to us, from Jafar bin Abbas, from Ibn Abbas, and he mentioned it.Jafar bin Abbas is Jafar bin Tammam bin Abbas bin Abdul-Muttalib Al-Hashimi, as Bukhari traced his lineage in his Tarikh. Its chain is hasan because of Jafar bin Tammam bin Abbas bin Abdul-Muttalib Al-Hashimi, whom Ibn Hibban mentioned in Thiqat (6/132).He said in Tajil, "Abu Ali Al-Zarrad, Abu Hazim, Ibn Abu Dhib, and others narrated from him. Abu Zura said, He is from Madinah and reliable. Ibn Saad said, His offspring died out, so none of them remained. He mentioned him in the third tabaqah of the Tabiun."Then in the biographical entry, he mentioned Jafar bin Abbas, or Ibn Ayyash, narrating from Ibn Abbas, with Abu Hazim narrating from him, saying he is unknown. This is because the author assumed they were two different people, but the correct view is that they are one and the same, as Bukhari mentioned in his Tarikh.
