Zayd bin Arqam arrived, and Abdullah bin Abbas said to him, seeking to refresh his memory, "What was it you told me about the game meat that was gifted to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was in a state of ihram?"He replied, "He was given a portion of game meat as a gift, but he returned it and said, 'We do not eat it, for we are in a state of ihram.'"
قدم زيد بن أرقم، فقال له عبد الله بن عباس، يستذكره: كيف أخبرتني عن لحم صيد أهدي إلى رسول الله ﷺ وهو حرام؟ قال: قال: أهدي له عضو من لحم صيد فرده فقال: إنا لا تأكله إنا حرم.
Reported by Muslim in the Hajj (1195), from Zuhayr bin Harb, who said, Yahya bin Saeed narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, who said, Hasan bin Muslim informed me, from Tawus, from Abdullah bin Abbas, who said... and he mentioned it.
