The Prophet ﷺ addressed us at Arafat and said, "Whoever cannot find a waist-wrapper, let him wear trousers, and whoever cannot find sandals, let him wear leather socks."
خطبنا النبي ﷺ بعرفات فقال: من لم يجد الإزار فليلبس السراويل، ومن لم يجد النعلين فليلبس الخفين.
Bukhari narrated it in the Reward of Game chapter (1841), and Muslim in Hajj (1178), both through the route of Shubah, from Amr bin Dinar, "I heard Jabir bin Zayd, I heard Ibn Abbas," and he related it, and the wording is Bukhari's. Muslim also narrated it through other routes, from Amr bin Dinar, with the wording, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivering a sermon, saying..." and they did not mention "Arafat." Imam Muslim said, "None of them mentioned 'delivering a sermon at Arafat' except Shubah alone."
