Ali found himself feeling cold and said, "Throw a garment over me, Nafi."So I threw a hooded cloak over him, and he said, "You throw this over me, when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the pilgrim in ihram from wearing it!"
أنه وجد القر فقال: ألق علي ثوبا يا نافع، فألقيت عليه برنسا فقال: تلقي علي هذا! وقد نهى رسول الله ﷺ أن يلبسه المحرم.
Abu Dawud (1828) narrated it from Musa bin Ismail, Hammad narrated to us, from Ayub, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, and he related it. Its isnad is sahih. Imam Ahmad (6266) also narrated it from Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman Tufawi, Ayub narrated to us, with his isnad, similarly. This is a strong corroboration supporting Hammad, who is Ibn Salama, since his memory changed toward the end of his life.Imam Ahmad (4856) has another isnad. He narrated it from Yazid, Jareer bin Hazim informed us, Nafi narrated to us, and said, Ibn Umar felt the cold while he was in ihram, and he related something similar. Al-qurr means cold.
