Abu Dawud (1722) narrated it from Nufayli, who said, "Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad narrated to us, from Zayd bin Aslam, from a son of Abu Waqid Laythi, from his father," and he mentioned it. Its chain is hasan because of Ibn Abu Waqid, whose name was Waqid, as Imam Ahmad named him (21905) in his narration from Saeed bin Mansur, who said, "Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad narrated to us, from Zayd bin Aslam, from Waqid bin Abu Waqid Laythi, from his father," mentioning the same. This Waqid is a subject of disagreement, and Ibn Hajar concluded that he had companionship with the Prophet, following Ibn Manda's mention of him in Sahabah, and he also transmitted from Abu Dawud that he had companionship with the Prophet. So whoever said of him "unknown" was not correct.
