The Messenger of Allah, when he performed the pilgrimage with his wives, said, "This is the pilgrimage, then stay close to your mats."
أن رسول الله لما حج بنسائه قال: إنما هذه الحجة، ثم الزمن ظهور الحصر.
Ahmad (9765), Abu Yaala (7158), Tayalisi (1752), and Bayhaqi (5/228) all reported it through the route of Ibn Abu Dhib, from Salih the freed slave of Tawama, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it.The last two of them added, "So they used to perform hajj, except Sawda bint Zama and Zaynab bint Jahsh, for the two of them used to say, 'By Allah, no riding beast will move us again after we heard it from the Messenger of Allah.'"This addition was also reported by Ahmad (26751) through other routes from Ibn Abu Dhib, with the same chain.Bazzar reported it in Kashf Astar (1057) through the route of Sufyan Thawri, from Salih the freed slave of Tawama, with the same chain. Bazzar said, "I think it is from Sufyan, from Ibn Abu Dhib, from Salih, but this is how Qabisa narrated it. A group reported it from Salih, among them Ibn Abu Dhib and Salih bin Kaysan."I say, its chain is hasan because of Salih the freed slave of Tawama, for he is truthful, though his memory became confused toward the end of his life, but Ibn Abu Dhib reported it from him before that confusion set in.
