The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him along with Aws bin al-Hadathan during the days of Tashriq to announce, "None shall enter Paradise except a believer, and the days of Mina are days of eating and drinking."
أن رسول الله ﷺ بعثه وأوس بن الحدثان أيام التشريق، فنادى: إنه لا يدخل الجنة إلا مؤمن، وأيام منى أيام أكل وشرب.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Fasting (1142) from Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba, who said, "Muhammad bin Sabiq narrated to us, Ibrahim bin Tahman narrated to us, from Abu Zubayr, from Ibn Kaab bin Malik, from his father."His statement, "from Ibn Kaab bin Malik," is unnamed as it appears here, and it is likewise unnamed in other sources. It appears named in Abu Shaykh's "Juz Ahadith Abu Zubayr an Ghayr Jabir" (92) as Muhammad bin Kaab bin Malik. However, its chain contains Ibrahim bin Fahd, from Ibrahim bin Tahman, about whom Ibn Adi said in Kamil (11), "The rest of Ibrahim bin Fahd's hadiths are unrecognized narrations, and his situation is obscure."Hafiz Mizzi cited the hadith in Tuhfat Ashraf (8/316) under the collection of narrations of Abdullah bin Kaab, from his father Kaab bin Malik. However, in the biographical entry for Abdullah bin Kaab in Tahzib Kamal, he said, "Abu Zubayr Makki narrated from Ibn Kaab bin Malik without naming him," and he attributed this narration to Muslim.
