A man suffered a financial loss during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding fruits he had purchased, and his debts grew large. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Give charity to him."So the people gave charity to him, but it was not enough to settle his debts. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said to his creditors, "Take what you find, and you have nothing beyond that."
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Musaqah (1556), from Qutayba bin Saeed, who said, Layth narrated to us, from Bukayr bin Ashaj, from Iyad bin Abdullah, from Abu Saeed, who mentioned it.
