He heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "Allah has disliked three things for you: idle gossip, wasting wealth, and asking too many questions."
أنه سمع النبي ﷺ يقول: إن الله كره لكم ثلاثا: قيل وقال، وإضاعة المال، وكثرة السؤال.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Zakat (1477), and Muslim in the Book of Rulings (593:13), both through the route of Ismail bin Ulaya, from Khalid Haddan, who said, "Ibn Ashwa narrated to me," from Shaybi, who said, "The scribe of Mughira bin Shuba narrated to me," and he said, "Muawiya wrote to Mughira bin Shuba, 'Write to me something you heard from the Prophet ﷺ.' So he wrote to him, 'I heard the Prophet ﷺ say,' " then he mentioned it.The scribe of Mughira was named Warrad, with a doubled "r", also known as Abu Saeed or Abu Ward al-Kufi, the freed slave of Mughira bin Shuba. Ibn Ashwa is named after his grandfather, and he is Saeed bin Amr bin Ashwa al-Hamdani al-Kufi.
