The Prophet ﷺ said, "The hand of the giver is the upper hand. Give to your mother, your father, your sister, and your brother, then to those nearest to you and then the next nearest."A man said, "Messenger of Allah, these are the tribe of Yarbu, the killers of so-and-so."He replied, "No soul bears the guilt of another."
Ahmad (7105) narrated it from Amr bin Haytham and Abu Nadr, and Tabarani in Al-Kabir (22/283) narrated it through Hajjaj bin Nasir, all of them from Masudi, from Iyad bin Laqeet, from Abu Rimtha, who related it.Its chain of transmission is hasan. Masudi is Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Utbah bin Masud Al-Kufi, who was truthful but his memory became confused before his death, and the Basrans heard from him before this confusion set in. Amr bin Haytham was a Basran.
