The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whatever you feed yourself is a charity for you, whatever you feed your child is a charity for you, whatever you feed your spouse is a charity for you, and whatever you feed your servant is a charity for you."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: ما أطعمت نفسك فهو لك صدقة، وما أطعمت ولدك فهو لك صدقة، وما أطعمت زوجك فهو لك صدقة، وما أطعمت خادمك فهو لك صدقة.
Imam Ahmad narrated it (17179), Tabarani in Al-Kabir (20/634), Nasai in Sunan al-Kubra (9185), and Bukhari in Adab al-Mufrad (82), all of them from the hadith of Baqiyyah bin Walid bin Muslim, from Buhayr, from Khalid bin Madan, from Miqdam bin Mad Yakrib, and he mentioned it. Baqiyyah is a mudallis and he used the ambiguous form "an", but Ibn Abdul-Hadi said, "Baqiyyah's narration from Buhayr is sahih whether he explicitly states the act of narrating or not." Commentary on Ilal Ibn Abu Hatim (p. 80). It has also been corroborated, for Ibn Majah narrated it (2138), and Ahmad (17191), and others, through another route, from Ismail bin Ayyash, from Buhayr bin Saad, with his chain, similarly.Ismail bin Ayyash Himsi is truthful in his narration from the people of his own town, and this is one of those, since Buhayr bin Saad is also from Himsi. So its chain is sahih through the narration of Baqiyyah and Ismail from Buhayr bin Saad, and his teacher Khalid bin Madan is also from Himsi and is among the men whose narrations are accepted by all the compilers.Haythami mentioned it in Al-Majmu (4/119) and said, "Ahmad narrated it and its men are trustworthy."
