A man from among the Muhajirun gave his mother a large piece of land of his as charity, and she died leaving no heir other than him. He came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "My mother was among the most beloved of people to me and the dearest to my heart. I gave her a large piece of land of mine as charity, and she has died with no heir other than me. What do you instruct me to do with it?"He replied, "Allah has secured your reward for you and returned the land to you, so do with it as you wish."
أن رجلا من المهاجرين تصدق بأرض له عظيمة على أمه، فماتت، وليس لها وارث غيره، فأتى النبي ﷺ فقال: إن أمي كانت من أحب الناس إلي، وأعزهم علي، وإني تصدقت عليها بأرض لي عظيمة فماتت وليس لها وارث غيري فكيف تأمرني أن أصنع بها؟ قال: قد أوجب الله لك أجرك ورد عليك أرضك، فاصنع بها كيف شئت.

Nasai narrated it in Kubra (6278), Tabarani in Kabir (7/101), and Abu Naeem in Marifat al-Sahabah (3/1427), all of them through the route of Hajjaj bin Hajjaj Bahili, who said, Salama bin Junada narrated to us, from Sinan bin Salama, and he mentioned it.Its isnad is hasan because of Salama bin Junada Hudhali, for a group of narrators reported from him, and Ibn Hibban mentioned him among the trustworthy narrators. He belongs to the generation of the Tabiin, and his hadith has a firm basis, so someone like him has his hadith graded hasan, and this is one of those cases.As for Sinan bin Salama bin Muhabbiq, he was born on the day of Hunain, so he had only seen the Prophet without narrating directly from him, and this hadith belongs to the mursal narrations of the younger companions, which are accepted by the majority of the scholars.
