A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "So-and-so has a palm tree in my orchard, and he has been troubling me and making things difficult for me with his palm tree."The Prophet ﷺ sent for the owner of the palm tree and said to him, "Sell me your palm tree that is in so-and-so's orchard."He replied, "No."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then give it to me as a gift."He replied, "No."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then sell it to me in exchange for a palm tree in Paradise."He replied, "No."So the Prophet ﷺ said, "I have never seen anyone more miserly than you, except the one who is miserly with the greeting of peace."
Imam Ahmad narrated it (14517) from Abu Amir Aqadi, who said, Zuhayr narrated to us, from Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqeel, from Jabir, and he mentioned it. Its chain is hasan because of Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqeel, for his hadith is hasan. Hakim also reported it through his route (2/20) and presented it as a corroborating witness for the hadith of Anas.
