The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him to collect the zakat and said, "Abu Walid, fear Allah. Do not come on the Day of Resurrection carrying a camel that bellows, or a cow that lows, or a sheep that bleats."He said, "Messenger of Allah, will that really happen?"He replied, "Yes, by the One in whose hand my soul is, that is exactly how it will be, except for those upon whom Allah has mercy."He said, "By the One who sent you with the truth, I will never work over anything," or "over two things."

Bayhaqi related it in Kubra (4/158) via Muhammad bin Yahya bin Abu Umar Adani, who said, Sufyan (that is, Ibn Uyayna) narrated to us from Ibn Tawus (that is, Abdullah bin Tawus bin Kaysan Yamani), from his father, from Ubada bin Samit, who said, and then he related the account. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Ibn Abu Umar Adani is the author of the Musnad (died 243 AH), a trustworthy narrator, confirmed as reliable by Ibn Main and others, and he closely accompanied his teacher Sufyan bin Uyayna.Humaydi also related it in his Musnad (895) from Sufyan bin Uyayna, who said, Ibn Tawus narrated to us, from his father, who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed Ubada bin Samit over the collection of charity... and so on with the hadith, transmitted as mursal. The addition of a trustworthy narrator is accepted, especially when it has sound foundations, and this is one such case.Haythami said in Majma (3/86), "Tabarani related it in Kabir, and its narrators are the narrators of sahih hadith." However, I have not been able to locate it myself, because this portion of the hadith of Ubada bin Samit has not been published. Munziri said in Targheeb wal-Tarheeb (1180), after attributing it to Tabarani in Kabir, "Its chain of transmission is sahih."As for his words "ragha", this refers to the sound of a camel, "khuwar" is the sound of a cow, and "thugha" is the sound of a sheep.
