I used to wear gold ornaments, so I asked, "Messenger of Allah, is this considered hoarded treasure?"He replied, "Whatever reaches the amount on which zakat is due, once its zakat is paid, is not hoarded treasure."
كنت ألبس أوضاحا من ذهب فقلت: يا رسول الله أكنز هو؟ فقال: ما بلغ أن تؤدى زكاته، فركي فليس بكنز.
Abu Dawud (1564) narrated it from Muhammad bin Isa, who said, "Attab, meaning Ibn Bashir, told us, from Thabit bin Ajlan, from Ataa, from Umm Salama," and he mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is hasan, on account of the discussion regarding Attab bin Bashir, except that his hadith is hasan.
