I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "No owner of camels who fails to fulfill their due will escape the consequence. On the Day of Resurrection, his camels will come, more numerous than they ever were, and he will be made to sit before them on a flat plain, and they will trample him with their feet and hooves. No owner of cattle who fails to fulfill their due will escape the consequence. On the Day of Resurrection, his cattle will come, more numerous than they ever were, and he will be made to sit before them on a flat plain, and they will gore him with their horns and trample him with their feet.No owner of sheep who fails to fulfill their due will escape the consequence. On the Day of Resurrection, his sheep will come, more numerous than they ever were, and he will be made to sit before them on a flat plain, and they will gore him with their horns and trample him with their hooves. Among them will be none hornless nor with broken horn.No owner of treasure who fails to fulfill its due will escape the consequence. On the Day of Resurrection, his treasure will come to him as a bald serpent, pursuing him with its mouth wide open. When it reaches him, he will flee from it, and it will call out to him, 'Take your treasure that you hid away, for I have no need of it.' When he sees there is no escape from it, he will put his hand into its mouth, and it will chew on it the way a stallion chews."
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Zakat (988), through the route of Abdul-Razzaq, who said, Ibn Jurayj told us, Abu Zubayr told me that he heard Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari, and then he related the hadith. His words, "a flat open plain" mean a level, wide place. Its root meaning refers to a low-lying place where water settles, and its plural forms are qiah and qian. His words, "there is no hornless one among them" mean that the hornless one from among sheep is the one that has no horn. His words, "a bald serpent" refers to a male snake whose hair has fallen out from the abundance of its venom. His words, "and it gnaws at him" mean that it eats him.
