The Prophet ﷺ said, "The last person to enter Paradise will be a man who walks at times and stumbles at others, with the Fire scorching him at times." He then narrated the hadith at length, and at the end of it he said, "Allah the Exalted will say, 'Son of Adam, what will satisfy you from Me? Would it please you if I gave you the world and the like of it along with it?' The man will say, 'My Lord, are You mocking me when You are the Lord of the worlds?'"Ibn Masud laughed and then said, "Will you not ask me why I am laughing?"They asked, "Why are you laughing?"He said, "This is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed."They asked, "Why are you laughing, Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"He replied, "At the laughter of the Lord of the worlds when the man said, 'Are You mocking me when You are the Lord of the worlds?' Allah will say, 'I am not mocking you, but I am capable of doing whatever I will.'"
