Jabir bin Abdullah reported,
The Prophet ﷺ said, regarding the story of the Wurud, "We will be on the Day of Resurrection upon such and such," meaning above the people. He said, "The nations will be called along with their idols and what they used to worship, one after another. Then our Lord will come to us after that and ask, 'Whom are you waiting for?'They will reply, 'We are waiting for our Lord.'He will say, 'I am your Lord.'They will say, 'Until we see You.'So He will reveal Himself to them, smiling."

عن النبي ﷺ في قصة الورود، قال: نحن يوم القيامة على كذا وكذا- انظر، أي: ذلك فوق الناس- قال: فتدعى الأمم بأوثانها وما كانت تعبد، الأول فالأول، ثم يأتينا ربنا بعد ذلك، فيقول: من تنتظرون؟ فيقولون: ننتظر ربنا. فيقول: أنا ربكم، فيقولون: حتى ننظر إليك، فيتجلى لهم يضحك.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Faith (191) through several routes from Rawh bin Ubada Qaysi, who said, "Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, saying, 'Abu Zubayr informed me that he heard Jabir bin Abdullah being asked about the arrival,'" and he mentioned something similar in a long hadith, fully recorded in the hadith of the Bridge.His saying, "such and such, see" is all a corruption that occurred in the text.Nawawi said in Sharh Muslim, "This wording occurs this way in all the manuscripts of Sahih Muslim. The early and later scholars agree that it is a scribal error, an alteration, and a confusion in the wording. Hafiz Abdul-Haqq said in his book Al-Jam Bayna Sahihayn, 'What occurs in the book of Muslim is confusion from one of the copyists, or however it happened.' Qadi Iyad said, 'This is the form of the hadith.'"In the book of Ibn Abu Khaythama, from the route of Kaab bin Malik, "People will be gathered on the Day of Judgment on a hill, and my nation on a hill."Tabari mentioned in the tafsir, from the hadith of Ibn Umar, "He," meaning Muhammad, "and his nation will ascend a mound above the people."And he mentioned, from the hadith of Kaab bin Malik, "People will be gathered on the Day of Judgment, and I and my nation will be on a hill."Qadi said, "All this clarifies what was altered in the hadith, and that this word became obscure to the narrator, or was erased, so he expressed it as 'such and such,' and explained it by saying, that is, 'above the people,' and wrote over it 'see' as a note. So the transmitters gathered it all and arranged it as though it were part of the text of the hadith, as you see."
