Bayhaqi (3/405–406) narrated it from Abu Abdullah Hafiz, who reported that Abu Bakr Ibn Ishaq informed them, that Muhammad bin Ayub informed them, that Ibrahim bin Musa informed them, that Humayd bin Abdul-Rahman Ruwasi told them, that Hasan bin Salih told them, from Harun bin Saad, from Abu Waail, and he related it.Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Harun bin Saad, who is Ajli, or Jufi, the one-eyed Kufan, about whom there is disagreement, though his hadith is hasan. He is among the narrators of Muslim, and he was only criticized for his extremism in Rafd.Ibn Hibban said, "He was extreme in Rafd, and it is not permissible to narrate from him under any circumstance."I say, that would apply if lying were established against him, but it has not been established. For that reason, Nawawi graded it hasan in Khulasah (3398).A note of caution, in Sunan Bayhaqi, "Harun bin Saad" has been corrupted to "Harun bin Saeed," so be aware of this.
