The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever washes a deceased person and conceals what he sees, Allah will forgive him forty times. Whoever shrouds a deceased person, Allah will clothe him in the fine silk and brocade of Paradise. Whoever digs a grave for a deceased person and buries him in it, Allah will grant him a reward equal to that of providing a dwelling in which he lodges someone until the Day of Resurrection."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: من غسل ميتا فكتم عليه غفر له أربعين مرة، ومن كفن ميتا كساه الله من السندس وإستبرق الجنة، ومن حفر لميت قبرا فاجنه فيه أجرى له من الأجر كأجر مسكن أسكنه إلى يوم القيامة.

Hakim narrated it (1/354) from Bakr bin Muhammad Sayrafi, who said, our teacher Abdul-Samad bin Fadl told us, our teacher Abdullah bin Yazid Muqri told us, our teacher Saeed bin Abu Ayub told us, from Shurahbil bin Sharik Maafiri, from Ali bin Rabah Lakhmi, from Abu Rafi, and he related it.Zaylai said in Nasb Raya (2/256), "Tabarani also narrated it in his Mujam from Harun bin Makhul Misri, who said, our teacher Abdullah bin Yazid Muqri told us, with the same chain and wording." Perhaps this hadith is in the missing portion, for I could not find it in the printed edition.Hakim said, "Sahih according to the criterion of Muslim." Dhahabi said in Al-Muhaddhab fi Ikhtisar Sunan al-Kubra (3/1327), "Its chain is good." Haythami said in Al-Majmu (3/21), "Tabarani narrated it in Al-Kabir, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih."I say, it is as the two of them said, except that Shurahbil bin Sharik Maafiri is truthful, and he is among the narrators of Muslim. Hafiz said in Al-Diraya, "Its chain is strong."
