The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The most complete of people in faith are those with the best character, and good character truly attains the rank of fasting and prayer."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: أكمل الناس إيمانا أحسنهم خلقا، وإن حسن الخلق ليبلغ درجة الصوم والصلاة.
Bazzar narrated it in Kashf Astar (35), and Abu Yaala (4166), both from Muhammad bin Muthanna Abu Musa, who said, Zakariya bin Yahya Tai narrated to us, who said, Shuayb bin Habhab narrated to us, from Anas, and he related it.Bazzar said, "We do not know of anyone who narrated it this way except Zakariya, and Wahb bin Yahya bin Zamam Qaysi narrated it to us."Haythami said in Majma (58/1), "Bazzar narrated it, and its narrators are trustworthy."I say, it is as he said, except that Zakariya bin Yahya is disputed. Ibn Saad and Ibn Hibban regarded him as trustworthy, while Daraqutni criticized him, though his hadith is hasan. Haythami failed to attribute the hadith to Abu Yaala as well.
