The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Have you not seen that when a person dies, his gaze becomes fixed?"They replied, "Yes."He said, "That is the moment when his sight follows his departing soul."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: ألم تروا الإنسان إذا مات شخص بصره؟ قالوا: بلى. قال: فذلك حين يتبع بصره نفسه.
Muslim reported it in the chapter on funerals (921), from Muhammad bin Rafi, who said, Abdul-Razzaq told us, Ibn Jurayj informed us, from Ala bin Yaqub, who said, my father informed me that he heard Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it.
