The Messenger of Allah ﷺ visited a Jewish boy who was ill and asked him, "Do you bear witness that there is no god but Allah?"The boy answered, "Yes."The Prophet ﷺ then asked, "Do you bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger?"He replied, "Yes."Then he passed away. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the Muslims took charge of his affairs, washed him, and buried him.
دخل رسول الله ﷺ على غلام من اليهود وهو مريض فقال: أتشهد أن لا إله إلا الله؟ قال: نعم، قال: أتشهد أن محمدا عبده ورسوله؟ قال: نعم، ثم قبض، فوليه رسول الله ﷺ والمسلمون فغسلوه ودفنوه.

Tabarani related it in al-Kabir (8/80) from Husayn bin Ishaq Tustari, who said, Musayab bin Wadih narrated to us, Abu Ishaq Fazari narrated to us, from Ibn Ajlan, from Asim bin Bahdala, from Zirr bin Hubaysh, from Safwan bin Assal, and he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Asim bin Bahdala, for he is hasan al-hadith. As for Musayab bin Wadih, I have already discussed him at length in the chapter on wiping over the leather socks, and the conclusion regarding him is that he is hasan al-hadith when he does not contradict others, and this is such a case.Haythami graded its chain as hasan in al-Majma (2/324–325), after attributing it to Tabarani in al-Kabir.
